Two Blountstown men are behind bars accused of robbing a convenience store clerk at gunpoint Friday night.

Shacarrio Poitier, 18, and Jonathan Earl Holmes, 21, have both been charged in the case.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, authorities responded to the Pit Stop on SR 20 West just before 10:30 p.m. The clerk advised two black males entered the store wearing dark clothing and bandannas over their faces. One of the men allegedly pointed a firearm at her head and began yelling at her. The woman said she initially thought they were joking and she grabbed the gun, then realized it was real. She described it as a semi-automatic pistol. The clerk fell to the floor and was then dragged behind the counter. She alleged one man held her at gunpoint and threatened to kill her, while the other took approximately $800 from the cash register. The men fled and the clerk called 911.

Authorities inspected the video surveillance tape and found a shoeprint on the floor where the clerk had spilled her soda during the incident. A K-9 unit followed tracks that led to two homes on Boggs Cemetery Road. An interview at one of the homes led to information on the two suspects. Discarded clothing was also found in the area that fit the description of what the suspects were wearing.

The following day, BPD Officer Patrick Crawford spotted Poitier in a Jeep on River Street. Lt. Michael Bryant and Inv. Mark Mallory joined him and found the vehicle on Boyd Street. They discovered Poitier laying in the backseat. He initially gave a false name, but later admitted to his true identity. During an interview, he provided details about the robbery and said he was with Holmes.
