Lenora Byrd Larkins, 89, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2010, in Tallahassee.

She was born in Wakulla County January 31, 1921, and moved to Liberty County in 1944. She was a homemaker and a member of Sumatra Baptist Church for 32 years where she taught Sunday school. She also taught Sunday school at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol.

She is survived by two sons, J. Clark Byrd and his wife, Paulette, of Tallahassee and T. D. Whaley and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Crawfordville; a daughter, Frances Byrd Milam, and her husband, Carol Dean, of Tallahassee; a sister, Beatrice Carter of Crawfordville; six grandchildren, Dennis Whaley of Key West, Brian Whaley and his wife, Susan, of Tallahassee, Ricky Milam and his wife, Wendy, of Dunnellon, Trevor Milam and his wife, Terry, of Tallahassee, Kevin Byrd and his wife, Lisa, of Tallahassee, Stephanie Byrd Griesheimer and her husband, Donald, of Tallahassee; ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. EDT, Friday, May 7, at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol. Interment followed in Lake Mystic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Florida Baptist Children’s Home, 8415 Buck Lake Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32317.
