The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests this week in a pair of burglaries.

Louis Cameron Rogers was booked into the Calhoun County Jail Friday accused of burglary of a dwelling, grand theft, and criminal mischief under $1000.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Eddie Dalton responded to a burglary at 20151 SE C.L. Capps Road April 16 and learned the resident and her friends left the home around 9 p.m. and returned to discover the back door had been kicked in. A search revealed two computers and a Playsta-tion 3 were missing. It was later learned that three rings had been taken.

Inv. Michael Bryant followed leads that resulted in Rogers being interviewed. He allegedly gave $100 to one of the home’s residents so she could purchase marijuana for him. After she failed to deliver the marijuana, her home was burglarized. The woman reportedly went to Rogers’ house and questioned him about the missing items. He denied taking them, they returned to her house, and she delivered the pot.

However, another woman contacted authorities and said she had given Rogers $83 to purchase marijuana for her. When he failed to deliver, she and some friends went to his house to confront him. That’s when he told her about the deal he had made with the woman at the Capps Road residence and said she took off with his cash. To reimburse the woman her $83, Rogers reportedly gave her a laptop computer, a desktop computer, flatscreen monitor and accessories. The woman said the items were in Rogers’ bedroom except the laptop that was hidden underneath his mobile home skirting. The woman alleged Rogers’ girlfriend showed her a ring he had given her. The woman believed the ring had been taken in the burglary.

When questioned by Inv. Bryant, Rogers initially denied his involvement in the case, He later agreed to retrieve the stolen items and they were returned. He then reportedly admitted to possessing the stolen items, but said he didn’t commit the burglary. Other sources told authorities Rogers asked two men to help him do the break-in, but they refused. Rogers later turned over three stolen rings he said he found in an alarm clock at the house when he went to retrieve some items.

Rogers was subsequently arrested.

In the second case, Brion Alexander Dionta Hall, 18, was arrested Friday for burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief under $1000.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Hall is accused of burglarizing the Pit Stop convenience store on SR 20 West on April 14 just after 3:30 a.m.

The front glass door was broken in the break-in and an estimated $250 was taken. A surveillance video showed a suspect entering the business three times. The investigation led to Hall’s arrest.
