It was definitely a week of ups and downs for the Lady Tigers as they played what Coach Bubba Johnson describes as their best and worst games of the season.

The week started Mar. 22 when the Lady Tigers traveled to South Walton and were defeated, 8-0. The girls played hard, allowing only one earned run with Brittany Griffin on the mound. At the plate, Anna Kelley and Britney Brown had a single each.

Next up was Sneads with the Tigers sending them packing, 10-1.

“This was by far our best and most complete games of the season,” says Coach Johnson.

Brown relieved Griffin on the mound to get her first high school win.

Offensively, the Tigers were led by Kelley with three singles and an RBI, Amber Burch with a double, a sacrifice and three RBIS, Brown with two singles and an RBI, and Lindsey Doyal with two singles and two RBIs. Randa McCroan, Ann Marie Silcox, Selena Williams, Griffin, and Montoya Garrett each had a single.

“We scored two in the second, six in the fifth, and one in the sixth inning,” says Coach Johnson. “Nine players had at least one hit each. We threw out two at the plate, three stealing, and one in a rundown.”

That was the best...now for the worst.

Bozeman came to town Saturday and the Lady Tigers were defeated, 19-10.

“We had 10 errors and 10 walks,” says Coach Johnson. “It was the worst game of the season defensively!”

Griffin took the loss on the mound.

At the plate, Coach Johnson says, “We hit the ball well, but made mistakes, striking out on high pitches and two or three base running mistakes.”

Williams led with a triple and two singles. Griffin added three singles. Doyal offered a triple and two singles. Garrett and Burch each had a double and a single. Silcox had a double. McCroan and Kelley each added singles.

The Lady Tiger record is at 8-7 overall and 3-7 in the district. The girls host Vernon Monday (game times at 4 and 6, Graceville Tuesday (varsity only at 5:30), and Holmes County next Thursday (varisty only at 6).
