If you have noticed the gorgeous Bradford pear trees along Central Avenue East, you’ve admired the work of Keep Calhoun County Beautiful. About 12 years ago, KCCB planted trees outside the Extension Office, old courthouse, and new courthouse, resulting in the beauty you see today. KCCB is kicking off the Great American Cleanup, with amnesty weeks in both the City of Blountstown and Calhoun County.

KCCB, through the cooperation of Emerald Waste Services, is providing dumpsters at the recycling center north of Blountstown on Monday, March 29 – Friday, April 2, during the hours of 8 am and 4 pm for the disposal of white goods, old furniture, etc. No chemicals, tires or household waste will be accepted for citizens outside of the city limits of Blountstown.

Amnesty week is now underway in the City of Blountstown and will continue through Monday, Mar. 29. Residents can leave old furniture, appliances, and general junk at curbside for pickup. Again, no chemicals, construction debris, etc.

If you have a civic, church or other organization that would like to participate in this effort please call 674-5935 for further information on how you can be involved or if you need additional information regarding how you can dispose of your waste.

Please support your local volunteers of KCCB,Inc. in helping us to promote responsible environmental stewardship and renew our commitment to building a better world today and for future generations.
