A Calhoun County Correctional Officer is behind bars in Texas after being busted with 200 pounds of marijuana.
Hector Javier Morales Jr., 30, of Blountstown, was arrested last Wednesday in Brownsville, Texas, after the District Attorney’s Special Operations Group K-9 Unit conducted a consensual search at a relative’s home where he was staying. No one else was named in the arrest report, but sources say the case remains under investigation.
Morales is charged with a second-degree felony of possession of marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.
The street value of this amount of pot is estimated around $180,000.
