A Tallahassee man has been charged with grand theft auto after pawning a local woman’s ATV.
Thomas B. Richards, 39, was arrested last week.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Nate Jordan met with a Blountstown woman in December. She told him Richards borrowed her 2007 Arctic Cat four-wheeler over the summer to use on a painting job in Fort Walton Beach. She said she asked him repeatedly about returning it and he told her it was in a storage shed at a friend’s house and he would return it as soon as he was back over there. However, a pawn ticket turned up revealing Richards had pawned the ATV for $1000.
