Floyd LaDon “Don” Bowden, 80, of Marianna, FL, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015, in Marianna.

Don was born on January 13, 1935, in Altha, Florida, and had lived in Calhoun and Jackson County all of his life. He was a retired businessman, farmer, and entrepreneur. He was a member of the Cypress United Methodist Church and Altha United Methodist Church.

He is survived by the love of his life, Glenda Marie Southard Bowden; two sons, Andrew LaDon Bowden of Marianna, and Richard Neal Bowden of Cottondale, FL; a granddaughter, Lacey Jackson, of Chipley; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Gibson Bowden, of Panama City, FL; and a special friend, Mike Adkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Columbus Bennett “Cull” Bowden and Mamie Nancy Walker Bowden; a son, Jonathan Shawn “Jonny” Bowden; brothers and sisters, J.W. Bowden and wife, Earlene Rackley Bowden, Foster Bush Bowden, Bill F. Bowden and wife, Mary Packwood Bowden, Nina Bowden Hoosan and husband, Gene Hoosan, Lucille Bowden Holley and husband, Buck Holley, Dallas “Rusty” Bowden, and Bobby G. Bowden and wife, Ethel Vickery Bowden.

Services will be held Saturday, March 7, at 10:00 am (CST) at the Altha United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Chipola Cemetery in Altha. Honorary pallbearers will be Lamar Bowden, Billy Bowden, Michael Hoosan, Jimmy Lee Holley, Maxie Bowden, Bobby Bowden, and Mike Adkins.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Covenant Hospice, Inc., 4215 Kelson Avenue #E, Marianna, FL 32446, ph. (850) 482-8520.

All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
Michael Dennis Parrish

Mr. Michael Dennis Parrish, 76, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, in Panama City, FL.

Michael was born on October 24, 1938, in Los Angeles, CA, and had lived in Calhoun County since 1987, coming from California. He was owner and operator of the Seminole Restaurant in Blountstown for several years. He also worked in real estate in California before coming to Blountstown. He served in the United States Air Force.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Silas Parrish and Shirley (Singer) Parrish.

Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Dennis (Parrish) Nickels, of Oak Hill, CA; one brother, Tommy Parrish, and his wife, Mary Lou, of Lake Arrowhead, CA; three grandchildren, Aaron, Cassidy and Jadyn Nickels; and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14, at 3:30 pm (CDT) at the Calhoun County Public Library in Blountstown. Memorialization will be by cremation.

All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
