Mrs. Lula Nix, 78, of Altha, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her home.
Lula was born on August 1, 1935, in Altha and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith.
Lula was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Hall and Liddie (Chason) Hall; husband, Stanley Ray Nix; and a son, Dale Porter.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Bates, and his wife, Edith, of Altha; daughters, Glenda Burch and her husband, Larry, of Altha, and Lisa Thompson of Kentucky; brother, Willard Hall, of Altha; sisters, Josephine Kelley of Lakeland, FL, Hilda Trickey and her husband, Kenneth, of Pace, FL, Wilma Middleton and her husband, Ernest, of Altha, Blondell Melton of Altha, and Joan Baker and her husband, Jimmy, of Huntsville, AL; nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 12, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Carlton Baggett and Reverend Jack Strader officiating. Interment followed in Hall Family Cemetery in Altha.
