Carol Joan Weeks of Apopka, Florida, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
She was born January 21, 1942, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, to G.M. and Eleanor Lowery. Carol loved to quilt, fish, and cook for her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Jerry Weeks; two sons, Russell Gangloff, Jr., of San Francisco, California, and Gary K. Gangloff of Lake City, Florida; two granddaughters, Cristen Welsh and Danielle Martinez, of Apopka; sister, Sheila Saunders, of Bushnell, Florida; brother, Jerry Lowery, of Sorrento, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Local relatives include a brother-in-law, James Weeks, and his wife, Lana, of Blountstown, Florida; a step-brother-in-law, Larry Griner, and his wife, Linda, of Quincy; sisters-in-law, Margie Mason, of Blountstown, and Gail Koch and her husband, Bob, of Crystal River; a brother-in-law, Harry Cumbaa, of Blountstown; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends gathered for graveside services for Carol Joan Weeks at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, at Pine Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, at Adams Funeral Home.
Flowers were accepted, but the family prefers donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Florida Baptist Children’s Home, P. O. Box 8190, Lakeland, FL 33802-9963.
