Essie Lee Jackson, 93, of Blountstown, Florida passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014, in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.
She was born in Fountain, Florida July 17, 1920, to the late William Wesley and Minnie Lee (Damphier) Odom. She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and a son, William Jackson.
Survivors include six sons, Thomas Jackson, Higden Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Samuel Jackson, Lawrence Jackson, and Albert Jackson; eight daughters, Shirley Holbrooks, Elizabeth Ford, Doris Adkins, Brenda Morris, Erma Morris, Patricia Hanna, Debbie Lowe, and Linda Powell; four brothers; five sisters; many grandchildren; and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, at Adams Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, in the chapel of the funeral home with Reverend Charles Jackson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha.
