A Blountstown man has been arrested after allegedly trying to rob a local convenience store New Year’s Eve.
Brion Alexander Hall aka Brion Simmons, 21, has been charged with attempted robbery and criminal mischief.
According to the Blountstown Police Department, Hall reportedly entered the Southern Express on Central Avenue East just before 4 p.m. He allegedly demanded the clerk give him the money in the cash register, but the clerk refused and attempted to talk Hall out of the robbery. Hall reportedly persisted, allegedly telling the clerk if the money wasn’t given to him, he would “go crazy” in the store. Hall then began knocking chips, oil and other items off the shelves, then left. The clerk told authorities Hall kept his hand in his pocket during the incident, but never displayed a weapon.
BPD Capt. Terry, Chief Mallory and Ofc. Stewart located Hall on Azalea Drive Jan. 2 and took him into custody.
