On November 11, 2013, Rosemary Carolyn Conyer Kemp passed away at the age of 90, at Natchez Community Hospital.
She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, on July 11, 1923, to Haleen Mae Collins Conyer and Charles Benjamin Conyer. She was married to Roy Wilfred Kemp on July 22, 1945. In 1952, they moved to Monterey, LA, where she lived the remainder of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister, Katherine Collins, her son, Sandon Lee Kemp, and her grandson, Roy Wyatt Kemp.
She is survived by her brother, Charles C. Conyer, and his wife, Nancy, of Edwardsburg, MI; four children, Kathryn Waldorff and husband, Larry, of Blountstown, FL, Gayle Dixon and husband, Grover, of Conroe, TX, Ronald Wayne Kemp and wife, Bernice, of Tellico Plains, TN, Timothy Ryan Kemp and wife, Jayne, of Monterey, LA; daughter-in law, Peggy Kemp, of Monterey, LA; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kemp worked at Dale Insurance in Ferriday, LA, until she retired. She sang at many weddings and funerals and was well known for her musical talent.
She was also known for her quilting and needlework skills. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Most of all, she was devoted to the Lord and was a faithful member of the Living Church of God.
Memorial services for Mrs. Kemp were held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 15, in the yard of her home at 132 Ryan Road, Monterey, LA.
