Sheriff Nick Finch is back in his old digs, fresh off a five-month hiatus that was not by choice.
As previously reported, Finch was arrested back in June for official misconduct and falsifying a public document.
“Initially, when I was arrested, I was in disbelief because I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong,” he remarks. “I settled into the fact that I knew I didn’t do anything wrong and we’ve just got to go through this. But I never thought it would see a courtroom.”
After a not guilty verdict was announced in his case nearly two weeks ago and Gov. Scott gave the thumbs up, Sheriff Finch got right back to business.
He has hired Lee Keith as a sergeant and has plans to name an under sheriff.
Finch is replacing two of his key team members, Capt. Wes Harsey and Capt. Tim Partridge, who both resigned when he was found not guilty. The trio was all smiles when Finch was sworn into office back in January, but the team somehow crumbled.
