Two Blountstown teens have been arrested following an armed robbery attempt at a Bristol convenience store. Arrested were Thomas James Patrick Tierney and Charles Austin Capps, both 18. According to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office, the case unfolded around 2:30 a.m. today after a clerk was held up at gunpoint at the Express Lane. The clerk refused to provide the gunman any money and he fled. Within minutes, Dep. Jonathan Gentry pulled a speeding vehicle over on CR 12 and noticed the passenger was sweating and out of breath. Capps, who was behind the wheel, later confessed to driving Tierney to the store to rob it. Tierney is charged with armed robbery with a firearm and Capps is charged with principle in the first degree to armed robbery with a firearm. Both are in custody at the Liberty County Jail.
