A suspect is in custody, accused of a burglary that allegedly occurred back in 2010.
Eric Hamilton, 28, is charged with burglary and grand theft in the case.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Hamilton is accused of stealing jewelry from a home on New Market Road that belonged to his father-in-law. The investigation revealed a Rolex watch and two rings were pawned by Hamilton in 2010 and 2011. Hamilton reportedly had the combination to a safe where the jewelry was stored. A .380 pistol was also reported missing, but has not been recovered.
Lt. Mark Mallory and Sgt. Bobby Revell worked the case, resulting in Hamilton’s arrest April 2. Bond was set at $10,000.
