The Black History Parade Committee announces it is time once again to celebrate another year of fellowship, unity, and community pride.
We will be celebrating our African American Heritage the month of February. The annual Black History Parade will be held on Saturday, February 16, beginning at the Blountstown Middle School on Main St. at 10:00 a.m. Line up begins at 9:00.
We would love to see many pastors churches and other civic and community organizations participate in the parade. Floats, cars, and trucks must be appropriately decorated. At a minimum, entries must have a sign located on the front and sides of the vehicle identifying its activity.
Following the parade, the Black History Festival will be held at the Clay Mary historical site on River Street. Vendors are invited to reserve a booth.
For more information, please contact, Pastor G.B. Sheard at 674-8683, Marjorie Peterson at 237-1835, or the Prayer Chainer's Mission of God Church at 674-5548.
