An observant couple shopping at a Blountstown business spotted an alleged burglar in action.
Joe B. Williams III, 28, has been charged with burglary of a conveyance and petit theft.
Ofc. Maxwell of the Blountstown Police Department responded to the Alco parking lot just past 2 p.m. Friday after a couple reported observing a man in a gray hoodie entering the passenger side of a vehicle recognized as one belonging to their neighbor. The man reportedly glanced up to see the couple watching him, then exited and took off in an older model car. The couple made a mental note of the vehicle’s description - a blue Buick with most of the paint worn off the roof.
The woman who owned the burglarized car reported her wallet was missing.
Lt. Tim Partridge located a vehicle matching the suspect’s car at the Boyd Street Apartments. Williams, wearing a gray hoodie, was behind the wheel.
He reportedly confessed to the crime.
