If early voting totals are any indication, Calhoun Countians are going to show a strong turnout in the 2012 election.
Early voting began Saturday and continues through this Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Supervisor of Elections office at the Calhoun County Courthouse basement. According to Elections Supervisor Margie Laramore, 737 had already voted as of 10 a.m. Tuesday. In addition, over 1000 absentee ballots went out to Calhoun County registered voters.
Early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Be sure to bring proper identification when you go to the polls.
The general election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 6, with polls open across the county from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There are several amendments on the ballot, so take time to review these using your sample ballot prior to arriving at the polls. A condensed version of amendments is on page 2 of our print edition and be sure to check out our candidate interviews under top stories.
