A camper turned meth lab in the woods was busted last Tuesday, resulting in the arrest of a Blountstown woman.
April Marie Middleton, 33, has been charged with attempting to manufacture methamphetamine.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Middleton had an outstanding warrant for violation of a conditional release on a prior meth charge and had been eluding authorities for two weeks. A tip was received that Middleton had been staying in a camper in the woods off SR 73 near the county line.
Just before 6 p.m., Sgt. Jared Nichols and Dep. Bobby Sims approached the camper and located Middleton. Drug paraphernalia and chemicals used to manufacture meth were discovered. A man in the camper was not charged after Middleton said he just arrived and had nothing to do with the chemicals.
