Recently, Altha School 6th graders went on a field trip to the Pioneer Settlement to see the Smithsonian exhibits. The 6th graders had a great time learning about Florida’s history along with Calhoun County’s past.
One student, Austin Roberts, said, “I learned a lot about our surrounding counties, and also about early ways of transportation, and how it has changed over the years.”
Anna Alday, said that the trip to the Pioneer Settlement was “interesting and very fascinating!”
The students got to learn a lot of things about Calhoun County’s past, and even see old pictures of our county and the state of Florida!
The entire 6th grade would like to thank their teachers and the staff at the Pioneer Settlement for giving them this wonderful and educational experience.
