A Blountstown man was critically injured in a scooter accident Friday night.
Armindo J. Medina, 56, was admitted to the surgical intensive care unit at Bay Medical Center.
According to the Blountstown Police Department, authorities responded to the intersection of Azalea Drive and South Pear Street around 7:41 p.m. where Medina was face down, bloody, and unconscious. A witness advised she approached the four way stop at the same time as Medina. She motioned for him to go, he took his hand off the handles bars to wave, then lost control of the scooter.
BPD Ofc. Patrick Crawford, Ofc. Scotty Norris, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, and Calhoun County EMS responded.
