OBITUARY - Marshall

Mr. John Walter (J.W.) Marshall, 66, of Altha, FL, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012, at his home.

J.W. was born on January 20, 1946 in Clarksville, FL, and lived in LaGrange, GA, for several years before moving to Altha. He was retired from the Apalachicola Northern Railroad after 28 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Marshall, of Altha; two sons, John R. Marshall of LaGrange, GA, and Michael A. Marshall and his wife, Pamela, of Altha; a grandson raised by J.W. and JoAnn, Joshua D. Marshall, of LaGrange, GA; one daughter, Mary Y. Taylor and her husband, Troy, of Howard Lake, MN; three sisters, Mary Summerlot and her husband, Paul, of Port St. Joe, FL, Barbara Gates and her husband, Frank of Blountstown, FL, and Mae Porter and her husband, Marty of Bristol, FL; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, at 2:00 pm (CDT) from Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Page Pond Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 22, from 6:00 pm (CDT) until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
