Just a month after surviving a high voltage shock while working a construction job in Marianna, Kenny Wayne Klotz, 45, of Blountstown tackled another challenge and lived to tell about it.
After over three weeks at a burn hospital in Augusta, Georgia, Klotz said he returned home and suddenly felt horrible. “The same night I got home, I started having problems with my pancreas from the electric shock,” he tells The County Record. “The next morning, I had to go to Gulf Coast Hospital.”
Following another week of hospitalization, Klotz made it back home again, but his trip was short-lived. He was heading out this week for more grafting surgery at Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta.
“After a month in the hospital, I just appreciate all that everybody has done,” says Klotz, who says he is grateful for all the cards and contributions to help his family while he is unable to work in his masonry business.
Although he sustained damage to his feet, he says, “Everything is moving, I have feeling and we’re going to be good.”
Known for being a hard worker, Klotz would never ask for a hand out and is reluctant to accept help. But this family needs it.
