OBITUARY - Cohee

Mr. Joseph V. (Bill) Cohee, age 88 of Blountstown, FL, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 15, 2012, in Blountstown.

Bill was born on February 21, 1924 in Peru, Indiana, moved to Stuart, FL in 1954 then to Blountstown 28 years ago. Bill was in the United States Navy and served in the Pacific during WWII. He worked for the Florida Turnpike Authority and then was self-employed small engine mechanic. Bill was a member of the Macedonia First Baptist Church in Blountstown.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Minnie and Leo Cohee; sister, Mary Poff; brother, David Cohee; and son, Daniel Cohee.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Elaine Cohee, of Blountstown; sisters, Elizabeth Cohee of Peru, IN, and Dorothy Brown of Kimberling City, MO; sister-in-law, Flo Cohee, of Peru, IN; brother, Phillip Cohee, and his wife, Jane, of Rochester, IN; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and very dear friends, Robert and Kay Trammell, of Tallahassee, FL.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 17, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Macedonia First Baptist Church in Blountstown with Reverend David Wood officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 16, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
