A Liberty County man was arrested last Wednesday for allegedly attacking a man the previous weekend. Troy Arthur Phillips, 31, has been charged with aggravated battery in the case.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, a call was received just after 10 p.m. July 7 from a woman alleging Phillips had attacked a man at her Bristol home, knocking him unconscious. Dep. Amanda King and Sgt. Jamie Shiver arrived and found the man on the front porch covered in blood, missing teeth, dazed and confused. The man told authorities he had been attacked by Phillips, the former boyfriend of the woman at the home. The woman said she looked outside after noticing a vehicle’s headlights then spotted Phillips kicking and beating the man in the face and head. She said she got between the two men and Phillips left.
