Single vehicle crash leads to arrest of local man for DUI

A Blountstown man found passed out in his wrecked vehicle has been charged with driving under the influence.

Shade Aaron Stone, 35, was arrested in the case.

According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Jody Hoagland responded to a trailer park on Highway 69 North in Blountstown just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday. He found a Ford pickup crashed into some trees inside the trailer park. Stone was found passed out in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running and in gear. An open six pack of beer was spotted in the floorboard.

Stone was checked out by EMS, but was fortunately not injured. FHP investigated and he was booked into the Calhoun County Jail.
