Burglar caught on film; $250 reward is offered

Recognize the masked individual in the photo shown above? The Blountstown Police Department is seeking information on this suspect who allegedly burglarized the Gas Mart across from Harvey’s on SR 71.

According to the BPD, Ofc. Leo Marlowe was dispatched to the convenience store around 3:19 a.m. last Tuesday in response to a burglar alarm. Ofc. Marlowe found the front door to the business smashed. Video surveillance revealed the suspect went behind the counter and removed some synthetic marijuana, dropping two packages in the process.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact Inv. Tim Partridge at the BPD, ph. 674-5987. The owner has offered a $250 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Maybe the city council needs to pass an ordinance banning the sale of that crap like most other modern municipalities have.
