2011 Christmas Season
Kicks Off This Weekend
~Weekend Of Festivities Planned~
details

The 2011 Christmas season kicks off this weekend in Calhoun County with a huge lineup of festive events. Here are the details on all the happenings:

- JINGLE BELL RUN:
Friday evening, Dec. 2nd, runners will jingle all the way in the 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Run & Walk, sponsored by Blountstown Middle School. All proceeds will benefit BMS Fellowship of Christian Athletes. For more information or to register, call Marie Castaneda at 643-7453.

- BREAKFAST WITH SANTA:
Stop by the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement Club House for a pancake breakfast with Santa from 6 to 9 a.m. CST. Bring your camera to take photos.

- CHRISTMAS ON THE SQUARE:
The “Christmas on the Square” craft fair will take place in Magnolia Square Saturday, Dec. 3rd. Booths spaces are still available. To reserve a space, call Eileen Bramblett at 643-2610.

- MILK & COOKIES WITH SANTA:
Santa Claus will be at the Altha Town Hall Gazebo from 11 a.m. til parade time at 1 p.m. and at the M & B Train Depot Museum (behind the train) in Blountstown from 2 to 4:30 p.m. just prior to the Blountstown parade. Stop by for milk, cookies, storytelling and visits with Santa. Photos available.

-PARADES:
Christmas parades, with the theme “Hollywood Holiday,” will travel through Altha at 1 p.m. and Blountstown at 5 p.m. All community organizations, clubs, and businesses are invited to help make this the best parade ever! Please note that the Chamber of Commerce vehicle is the ONLY vehicle for Santa and Mrs. Claus. While elves may be on other vehicles/floats, there is only ONE Santa in our parade. All participants MUST fill out an entry form. For more information or to sign up to participate, call 674-4519, visit www.calhounco.org or email kristy@calhounco.org.

- PIONEER SETTLEMENT CHRISTMAS:
The Panhandle Pioneer Settlement in Blountstown presents their annual Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration “Sight, Sound, & Smells” Saturday, December 3, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. following the Blountstown Christmas parade. Walk back in time and experience a Christmas from long ago.
