A man accused of helping a Bristol woman attack a pregnant victim is being held in the Calhoun County Jail.
Ricky Mitchell of Bristol has been charged with aggravated battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
According to the Gadsden County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred in February in Quincy following a party in Blountstown. The alleged victim said she left the party with a longtime friend, identified as Kasey Grant, 22, of Bristol, and a male later identified as Mitchell, after being invited to get something to eat. The alleged victim said she asked twice to stop, but Kasey continued driving ad locked the doors. She became fearful, noting that Kasey was currently dating her ex-boyfriend.
They wound up in Quincy where the victim alleges Kasey hit her in the head with a liquor bottle and began kicking her. She said Mitchell joined in the attack. Grant allegedly asked Mitchell if he had a gun, but he didn’t, so she continued kicking her. A woman in another car gave the victim a ride home. She was taken to the ER.
The woman believes the attack occurred because of a comment by her ex-boyfriend on her Facebook page.
Grant remains at large.
