A cleaning lady at a Blountstown nursing facility was arrested last week on grand theft charges.Kimberly Melvin was taken into custody Oct. 24 and given a conditional release three days later.
According to the Blountstown Police Department, a student attending CNA classes at Parthenon Health and Rehab reported her wedding rings had been stolen while she was at the facility. The teacher assisted the student in an attempt to find the rings, but could not locate them. The teacher then asked Melvin if she had noticed the rings while cleaning, but Melvin denied seeing them. Lt. Timothy Partridge of the BPD later questioned Melvin who appeared nervous. She then reportedly admitted she had the rings in her car.
Melvin turned the rings over to Lt. Partridge and said she found them while sweeping and planned to return them, but forgot.
