Your child could be eligible to receive free tutoring though the Supplemental Educational Services (SES) program for the 2009-2010 school year if they are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch and attends Blountstown Elementary School. Blountstown Elementary School is a school that has been identified as a school in-need of improvement.
Tutoring is offered in science, mathematics and reading/language arts. This tutoring takes place outside of the regular school day. Each provider offers a different program on different days at different locations. Tutoring will start by October 15, 2009.
There will be a Provider Fair during Open House at Blountstown Elementary School on August 21, 2009 from 8:00 to 12:00. You may visit with the Providers, ask questions, and chose a Provider for your child. SES Enrollment forms will be available for parents to complete that day or you may take the form home. Forms must be returned on or before September 4, 2009 to your child’s school or mail, fax, or deliver to the attention of Vicki Davis Special Programs Office, 16651 SE River Street, Blountstown, FL 32424.
The district will give priority to the lowest performing students if there is not enough funds to provide services to all eligible students whose parents request the services.
