Mrs. Ruthie Walden Nichols Blount, 92 of Gadsden, AL, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011, in Gadsden.
Mrs. Blount loved the outdoors and traveling with her husband. She made lifelong friends wherever they traveled. She left a lasting memory of love and friendship.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Jackson Nichols; parents, Daniel and Sadie Walden; and son, Johnny Alton Nichols.
Survivors include her husband, Richard H. Blount, of Gadsden, AL; two daughters, Bonnie Pichler Bryn of Shreveport, LA, and Patricia Nichols McAdams and husband, Jim, of Gadsden, AL; three sons, Robert Clyde Nichols and his wife, Jan, of Boyce, LA, Billy Max Nichols and his wife, Glenda Sue (Cookie), of Altha, FL, and Eugene McCoy Weaver and his wife, Paula, of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Estelle Walden Stewart of Augusta, GA, and Louise Walden Bober of Chipley, FL; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher McAdams, Gerald Johnson, Glen Stewart, Carl Griffin, Jonathan Patrick Kilgo, James Carlton (Sam) Walden and Virgel Stewart. Honorary pallbearers are Alacare Hospice, Teresa Smith, Crystal Ledbetter and the entire staff.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 30, at 11 am (CDT) at the Frink Baptist Church with Reverend Dan Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the McClellan Cemetery in Frink, FL. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 29, from 6 until 8 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
