The Altha FFA Chapters were recognized as two of the top FFA chapters in the State. The Florida FFA Association selected Altha Middle and Altha Senior FFA Chapter as two of 25 Premier FFA Chapters in the state of Florida. The Premier Chapter Award was initiated to recognize superior achievement by chapters in Agricultural Education and the FFA.

To be eligible for this award, chapter must be proficient in several areas which include Alumni and Community Partnerships, Financial Planning, and Public Relations, along with Recruitment and other FFA activities. Altha FFA was involved with many events during the 2010-2011 school year; members competed in numerous Career Development Events, traveled to leadership conferences, served members in the community, attend the Governor/Commissioner of Agriculture Inauguration and participated at the State FFA Convention. Florida has over 300 FFA Chapters, with only 25 chapters receiving this prestigious award. This is a great feat for both FFA chapters!

The National FFA Organization, formerly known as the Future Farmers of America, is a national youth organization of 523,309 student members-as part of 7,487 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. The National FFA Organization changed to its present name in 1988, in recognition of the growth and diversity of agriculture and agriculture education. The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
