A mishap with a tractor Monday afternoon claimed the life of former Liberty County School Superintendent, O.B. Shuler, 82, of Bristol.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Carol Marotta responded to Shuler’s home on SR 20 where he was found face down beneath a bush hog that was attached to a tractor. His legs had been nearly severed and he had no pulse, but was revived by Marotta who performed chest compressions. He was flown to TMH and died early Tuesday morning.
Shuler had reportedly been working on his property when the accident occurred.
