Meth is everywhere. The jails in both Calhoun and Liberty counties are like others around the nation - filled with family and friends who have succumbed to meth addiction. This week, The County Record is preparing a feature story on the "Madness of Meth" and we want to hear from you. Whether you provide your name or not isn't important. Just tell us: How has meth affected your family?

Meth,Prescription drugs, crack cocain or any of the mess can destroy a family.I have lost a daughter and a precious grandson to the distruction of using drugs. My daughter left behind five beautiful children ages two years - ten years. My grandson left two beautiful little boys that are now being adopted by their maternal aunt.Their mother is still messed up on drugs. The one thing I don't understand is the people involved in these meth labs and selling these prescription drugs
are arrested time after time and some how they are always back on the streets.Where is the justice in this? I see another of my daughters sons heading for the same disaster.he does not have custody of his children and he makes no effort to see them or support them.Any one on this mess, your child ,your spouse or your friend are headed for disaster and there is nothing that can be done as long as the suppliers are allowed to walk the streets.

-This is so true. You say you want to stop the maddness but you allow them to get on the streets. Youre saying go ahead and do it but the one thats selling drugs etc.... you give them 15-20 years in prision but the meth makers and users; soliciters a SLAP ON THE WRIST!!! While in the arresting state they then say they have a problem and 9 times out of 10 they get PROBATION, HOUSE ARREST, AND things along those lines. If youre gonna penalize one do it for ALL!!! So if you give them METH MAKERS AND ALL THAT FOLLOWS: GIVE THEM A LONGER AND A MORE HARSHER PUNISHMENT AND THEN SEE ABOUT THE RESULTS!!!!!!!!!! Still SMH!!!!!!

Mrs. Grover,

My heart goes out to you and your family. I am so sorry to hear that this horrible has torn your family apart. I just found out today that my 14 year old niece was found with a 23 year old man, and his friend smoking meth. I am pretty sure she is hooked on the stuff. Keep us in your prayers, as we will keep you in ours.
