BLOUNTSTOWN TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT #013.014

NOTICE TO RECEIVE SEALED BIDS

The City of Blountstown will receive sealed bids from any qualified person, company or corporation interested in providing the requested services for the following project:

BLOUNTSTOWN TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS

The project is located at the Depot Trailhead in Blountstown, Florida. The project improvements will include the construction of a new restroom, pavilion, playground equipment and concrete sidewalk.

Plans and specifications can be obtained at Preble-Rish, Inc., 20684 Central Avenue, East, Blountstown, Florida 32424, (850)674-3300. Cost for plans and specifications will be $ 75.00 per set and is non-refundable. Checks should be made payable to PREBLE-RISH, INC.

The substantial completion date for this project will be 60 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed presented to the successful bidder and fully complete with 90 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.

Liquidated damages for failure to complete the project on the specified date will be set at $250.00 per day.

Please indicate on the envelope that this is a sealed bid, for the “BLOUNTSTOWN TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS”

Bids will be received until _3_p.m. Central Standard Time, on August 25, 2009, at the City of Blountstown City Hall, 20591 Central Avenue West, Blountstown, Florida 32424, and will be opened and read at that time on the same date during their regularly scheduled meeting. The City of Blountstown is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Handicapped Accessible/Fair Housing Jurisdiction.

The bid must conform to Section 287.133(3) Florida Statutes, on public entity crimes. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the Bid shall accompany the Bid. The City of Blountstown reserves the right to reject any and all bids. All Bids shall remain firm for a period of sixty days after the opening.

All bidders shall comply with all applicable State and local laws concerning licensing registration and regulation of contractors doing business to the State of Florida.

The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) of Calhoun County, Florida will receive sealed proposals from any qualified person, company, or corporation interested in providing the following services:

SOLID WASTE COLLECTION/DISPOSAL
SERVICES

Proposals will be received until 2:00 p.m. (CT), on Tuesday, September 15 , 2009, at the Calhoun County Clerk’s Office, Calhoun County Courthouse, 20859 Central Avenue East, Room 130, Blountstown, Florida 32424. Proposals will be opened and read aloud at 5:00 p.m. (CT) or as soon as possible thereafter on Tuesday, September 15 , 2009, in the Open Session of BCC. All proposals should be sealed and marked “Calhoun County Solid Waste Collection/Disposal Services Proposal”. Detailed information and proposal forms can be obtained at no charge from the Emergency Management Office at 20859 Central Avenue East, Room G-40, located in the basement of the Calhoun County Courthouse or online at www.calhounflorida.org. For additional information, you may contact Don A. O’Bryan at (850) 674-8075.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. (CT), in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), located in the basement of the Courthouse.

Each proposal must be accompanied by a Bid Bond or cashier’s check payable to the Calhoun County Board of County Commissioners for five percent (5%) of the required $1,000,000 million dollars Performance Bond.

The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to waive informalities or to reject any or all proposals. Awards will be made on the basis of the cost and qualification/reputation of the proposer. The Board will not be obligated to award the contract to the lowest proposer.
