The Calhoun-Liberty Drug Task Force netted an arrest last Wednesday following a buy-bust operation.
Jamie Joe Koonce, 25, has been charged with sale of cocaine and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, a confidential source was utilized to purchase an eightball of cocaine - 3.5 grams - for $180. The transaction allegedly occurred near 11th Street. A traffic stop was initiated after the deal was done.
During a search of the vehicle, a plastic bag with an estimated four grams of marijuana was recovered, along with another bag containing numerous “dime” baggies with cocaine residue.
The case was investigated by Lt. Mark Mallory and Sgt. Todd Wheetley with assistance from Sgt. Jared Nichols and Dep. Bobby Sims.
