RICHARD ARLON CHASON
Mr. Richard Arlon Chason, 73, of Altha, FL, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at his home in Altha. Arlon was born on November 7, 1937, in Altha and lived in Altha all of his life. He was a retired supervisor at the Florida State Hospital with 37 years of service. Arlon served in the United States Army for 2 years and was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include, his wife, Judy Chason of Altha; two sons, Sterling Chason and his wife, Sharon, and Shannon (Coot) Chason and friend, Cindy, all of Altha; two daughters, Sherry Byrd and her husband, Bill, of Columbia, MS and Charlie Lipford and her husband, R.L., of Altha; two brothers, Joe Chason and his wife, Betsy, of Lawtey, FL, and Howard Chason and his wife, Jean, of Chattahoochee, FL; one sister, Sandra Summerlin, of Altha; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, at 7:00 pm (CDT) at the Altha Church of God in with Reverend Allan Nichols and Reverend Bill Mayo officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Friday, June 17, from 5:00 pm (CDT) until service time at 7:00 pm at the Altha Church of God. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).

Sorry to hear about Mr. Arlon. He was always very nice to all of us kids. One thing about Mr. Arlon that always struck me and has stayed with me was how close he was to all his children and grandchildren. They were his heart and he didn't mind showing it !! My thaughts are with them and his wife he took up a large space within that family and I know will be terriblly missed. Love to all Stephanie Mills Powell
