A Liberty County High School freshman lost her life in a single vehicle crash last Wednesday night.
Alexis Marie Patty, 16, of Hosford, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Patty was behind the wheel of a 1993 Ford Explorer around 8:15 p.m., headed east on County Road 2224 (Blue Creek Highway) from State Road 65. For unknown reason, her vehicle traveled out of the eastbound lane and onto the south grassy shoulder. Patty reportedly tried to steer back on to the roadway, but lost control. The SUV overturned in the eastbound lane, then rolled onto the south grassy shoulder. Patty was ejected.
