A disturbance call ended in the arrest of a local man after the makings of a meth lab were found in his vehicle.

Arrested was Michael Anthony Arguelles, charged with possession of meth, possession of listed chemicals, and attempting to manufacture meth.

According to the Blountstown Police Department, Ofc. Leo Marlowe responded to the Texaco station on Central Avenue West last Wednesday in response to a couple arguing at the gas pumps. Arguelles’ girlfriend had reportedly found him at the store with another woman. Ofc. Marlowe had information Arguelles was transporting a meth lab and asked him if anything illegal was in his vehicle. He said “no” and consented to a search which turned up a black bag containing chemicals used to manufacture meth. Also found were two containers of meth.

Arguelles gave a recorded statement to Inv. Timothy Partridge that he was “getting rid of all his stuff.”

He was booked into the Calhoun County Jail and bonded out July 9.
