My favorite thing? It all depends on just what you would define as a "Thing" and believe you me, the range is quite wide. If I had to say that I valued one object or one thing above all others in my life, then I'd have to say that my Bible is my most favorite thing. Yes, it's a book, with words written in ink on paper, but it is the meaning and hope that those words represent that is important and sustains my life here and the hereafter.

My favorite thing is my maternal grandparents' wedding photo. Black and white, 5 by 7. Both wearing a suit. My family would visit them in Sherman, Tx, every other summer. I can look at the photo and remember them, the homemade ice cream, huge slices of red tomatoes, the dark green pedestal iced tea glasses, the large concrete above ground dome of the cellar out back, where my cousins and I would sit and catch up with each other. It all meant Nana and Papa to me.
