BREAKING NEWS: A long term drug investigation by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has culminated in the arrest of 16 individuals. The charges are in connection to a Crystal Methamphetamine Trafficking Organization. The CCSO advises a press conference will be scheduled at a later date. No names have been released at this time, but The County Record is trying to get this information now. We will update as more details become available.
Circuit Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick has ruled today that Liberty County must pay Sheriff Nick Finch's legal fees and costs for his trial held last October. The total is $162,966.25 in fees, $6125.90 in costs, less $15,000 raised at a fundraiser, for a total of $154,092.15. Check out next week's edition of The County Record for the full story.
Authorities are seeking help from the public to identify the woman in this photo who allegedly stole items from the Calhoun Liberty Ministry Center. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, surveillance video at the Ministry Center captured images of a blonde woman in a silver hatchback loading donated items when the Ministry Center was closed. If you can identify this woman, call the Sheriff's Office at 674-5049 or Chipola Crimestoppers at 1-888-804-8494. You can remain anonymous. Last week, Crimestoppers gave a $500 cash award to the anonymous caller who aided in the recovery of approximately $5,000 in stolen goods from storage units in Jackson County.
