Mrs. Rachel Silcox, 60, of Clarksville, FL, passed away early Saturday morning August 22, 2015, at her home.
Rachel was born on March 28, 1955, in Jackson County and had lived in Calhoun County for most of her life. She, along with her husband, Wesley, are owners and operators of Silcox Auto Repair in Blountstown.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jewell Harris, and two brothers, Joe Lindsey and Larry Harris.
She attended Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol, FL.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Wesley Silcox, of Clarksville; one son, Chris Silcox, of Blountstown; one daughter, Angela Harper, and her husband, Obie, of Bristol; one brother, Wade Harris, and his wife, Ellen, of Fountain, FL; four sisters, Joan Sims and her husband, Melford, of Tallahassee, FL, Melissa Phinney and her husband, James, of Fountain, Gloria Smith of Bristol, and Sherleen Jones of Birmingham, AL; three grandchildren, Tiffany Merkison, Crystal Merkison and Joshua Howell; and two great-grandchildren, Arrabella Shuler and Branson Merkison.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 25, at 11:00 am (CDT) at Lake Mystic Baptist Church in Bristol with Reverend Jerry Chumley officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Mystic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, August 24, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.

OBITUARY - Griffin
Clarence E. Griffin, 82, of Blountstown passed away Monday, August 17, 2015, in Blountstown.
Born in Blountstown, March 31, 1933, Clarence was the son of the late Bud and Louise (Kent) Griffin. He proudly served in the United Army during the Korean War and retired after twenty-two years of service.
Other than his parents, Bud and Louise Griffin, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carlette Fulbright, and a brother, Phillip “Woody” Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine (Mitchell) Griffin; a son, Brent Edward Griffin, and his wife, Grace, of Bristol; four grandchildren, Steven, Nichole, Emily, and Louanne; five great-grandchildren; a brother, James Griffin, of Blountstown; four sisters, Carolyn Finch of Chipley, Beulah Moran of Bristol, Zelma Smith of Crawfordville, and Alice Elmore of Lake Talquin; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 19, at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, at the funeral home with Reverend Paul Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Memorial Cemetery with military honors.

OBITUARY - Peacock
Rachel Chambers Peacock, 90, of Altha, Florida, passed away peacefully Friday evening, August 7, 2015, at her home following a brief illness.
Rachel was born on July 28, 1925, in Trenton, Florida. She moved to Ocala, Florida, as a small child and graduated from Ocala High School in 1943. She graduated from Florida State College for Women/Florida State University in 1947 with a degree in Botany. While at FSU, she lettered in sports. She moved to Altha during the same year to teach science. There she met and married her soulmate, Drew Peacock, Jr., in 1948. She retired from teaching after 37 years of service. Rachel was an active educator who taught biology, chemistry, physics, and other science courses. Rachel was an active member of Altha First Baptist where she was a Sunday school teacher, choir member, assistant treasurer, and member of the building committee. For many years, she volunteered as a tax preparer for Calhoun County assisting low income families. She was an active member of the Altha PTO and an avid Altha Wildcat Booster. In addition, she thoroughly enjoyed working in the yard and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Daniel and Lola Chambers; her brother, Ralph Chambers; and her husband and true love of 66 years, Drew Peacock, Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Lima and her husband, Juan, of Altha, Linda Flanders and her husband, Jeff, of Altha, Kathy Lane and her husband, Travis, of Morgantown, West Virginia; her sister-in-law, Mildred Chambers, of Athens, Georgia; four grandchildren, Jeffery Flanders, Erin Lima and her husband, Travis Ake, Jeremy Flanders and his wife, Adrienne, and Drew Lane; four great-grandchildren, Hudson, Anniston, and Lincoln Flanders, and Olivia Ake.
Memorial services will be held Monday, August 10, at 2:00 pm (CDT) at Altha First Baptist Church with Reverend Jim McIntosh officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. The family will receive friends Monday, August 10, from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm (CDT) at the Altha First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Altha First Baptist Church Building Fund/Children’s Playground.

Hazel C. Celley, 68, of Avon Park, Florida, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 at her home.
Born in Avon Park, March 22, 1947, Hazel was the daughter of the late Charlie David Cloud and Doris Thelma (Coley) Cloud. She was a warehouse attendant for Sprint Telephone Company for several years.
Other than her father, Charlie David Cloud, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Allen Celley, and a brother, John Cloud.
Survivors include her mother, Doris Thelma Cloud; daughters, Tammy Lynn Farrens of Haines City, Florida, Sherry Renee Lowenburg and Deni Ann Celley, both of St. Cloud, Florida; six grandchildren; three brothers, Craig Cloud of Avon Park, Phillip Cloud of Ocala, Florida, and David Cloud of Avon Park; two sisters, Wilma Holand of Sumter, South Carolina, and Cathy Lutz of New Hartford, New York.

Born in Bristol, August 25, 1932, Nell was the daughter of Dave C. and Myrtle Lee (Allen) Brown. She was Finance Officer for the Liberty County School Board for several years. She loved hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and gardening. Nell was a member of Bristol First Baptist Church.
Other than her parents, Dave and Myrtle Brown, she was preceded in death by a sister, Corrine Beaver.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Ross, of Bristol; three sons, David E. Sumner and his wife, Marian, of Havana, Florida, Ken A. Sumner and his wife, Cynthia, of Bristol, and Bobby M. Ross and his wife, Penny, also of Bristol; a daughter, Patricia Whitfield, and her husband, Steve, of Bristol; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Brown, of Blue Creek; and a sister, Rosetta Strickland, of Bristol.
