Patricia Sue Champion-Silsby of Blountstown, Florida, born January 12, 1969, went to be with our Lord on July 15, 2012, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Myrtle and James Darnell, of Alma Arkansas, Harvey Champion and Ernest Adkins Sr., Janie and Albert Kearce, Jr., all of Blountstown, Milton Ingram of Portland, Oregon, and Dorothy Burgess of Madras, Oregon.
Survivors include her husband, Charles D. Champion-Silsby, Sr.; four sons, Charles D. Silsby II, Kyle M. Silsby, and Colwynn E. Silsby, all of Ralston, Oklahoma, and Brett Silsby of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three daughters, Crystal Hill and her husband of Waldron, Arkansas, Beth and Brooke Silsby, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandmother, LaVada Adkins of Blountstown; father, Troy Carlton Champion, Sr., and stepmother, Sue Ellen Champion, of Blountstown; mother, Susan Ingram, and stepfather, Scott Ingram, of Alama, Arkansas.
Survivors also include six brothers, Troy Carlton Champion, Jr. and James Timothy Champion of Blountstown, Bobby Salinas and his wife, Selene, of San Antonio, Texas, Jimmy and his wife, Latricia Griffin, of Mountainburg, Arkansas, and Ralph and his wife, Christie Hurt, of Norman, Oklahoma, Michael Irwin of New Buffalo, Michigan; nine sisters, Elaine Fazendin and her husband, Rob, of New Castle,Wyoming, Becky Waid and her husband, John, of Alma Arkansas, Twila Henderson of Beverly Hills, Florida, Ashley Champion, Karen Schwendeman, Erin Schwendeman and Michelle Lynn Ellis, all of Blountstown, Jessica Champion of Eufaula, Alabama, and Jessica Salinas of Panama City, Florida; 10 grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and nieces and nephews.

Thomas Ellis Finlay, 68, died suddenly July 18, 2012 at his summer home on Green Lake in Ellsworth, Maine with his wife by his side.
He was born August 25, 1943 in Dothan, Alabama the son of George Duncan Finlay Sr. and Annie Wood (Horne) Finlay Grab.
He was raised in Blountstown, FL and graduated from high school there in 1961. Tom served in the U.S Air Force from 1962-1966 and the reserves from 1967-1968. In December 1969 Tom married Naomi Skotty. He graduated from the University of South Florida School of Business and began his career in banking at Naples Federal Savings & Loan Association on 4 Corners in 1971. Tom retired from Regions Bank as Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Lending in 2007. His passions were golf, fishing, woodworking, hunting, spending time with his family, and summering in Maine. Tom was deeply loved by his family and all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Naomi (Skotty) Finlay; his son, Dr. Robert Thomas Finlay and wife, Allegra, of Milledgeville, Georgia; brother Dr. G. Duncan Finlay and wife Michele, of Sarasota, FL. and Rockland, ME.; sister, Patricia F. Parham, of Coral Gables, FL ; his Yellow Labrador, Casey; and nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Ronald Parham.

Gary Cannon passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012, in Panama City, Florida at the age of 74.
He was a resident of Clarksville, Florida, and had lived in Calhoun County for the past eight years. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Elmira College in Physics and was retired from IBM where he worked as an engineer for twenty-two years. He was also retired from the U. S. Army where he served in the Korean conflict and was a member of the American Legion in Lynn Haven, Florida. Gary was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church where he was an avid volunteer. He also enjoyed volunteering at Panhandle Pioneer Settlement and the Calhoun-Liberty Ministry Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Florence (Zellers) Cannon, and a sister, Dorla Wright.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Veronica (Carasea) Cannon, of Clarksville; a son, Mark Cannon, and his wife, Kum Hui, of Yorktown, Virginia; four daughters, Jordayne Douglas and her husband, Don, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Celene Tinder and her husband, Tim, of Lockport, New York, Desiree Dobbin and her husband, Jeff, of Ithaca, New York, and Hope Rivas and her husband, Julio, of LaBelle, Florida; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Larry Cannon, and his wife, Barbara, of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister, Sally Carl, and her husband, Roger, of Endwell, New York; and several nieces and nephews.

He served our country proudly during the Korean Conflict as an enlisted man with the United States Army. Mr. Whitehead was self-employed as a repairman. He was a member of the Altha Church of God in Altha, Florida, and was a member of the Gideon Society.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Lucille Varnum Whitehead, and one sister, Gladys Dennis.

Jeanette is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Howard Johnson, Sr.; one daughter, Debbie Van Lierop; and one son, Howard Johnson, Jr., all of Blountstown; three grandchildren, Johann Van Lierop and his wife, Jennifer, of Jacksonville, Florida; Johanna Plummer and her husband, Jon, of Blountstown; and Lauren Pasqualone and her husband, Josh, of Tallahassee, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Ellisa and Jace Van Lierop, Gus Plummer, and Penelope Pasqualone; one brother, Ellis Nichols and his wife, Betty, of Clarksville; one sister, Joyce Mauldin and her husband, C. W., of Panama City; one sister-in-law, Hazel Owens, of Clarksville; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.
She earned her B. S. Degree at Florida State University and her Master’s Degree at George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. She was an educator in Calhoun County for thirty-seven and a half years and retired as Coordinator of Special Programs December 31, 1988.
She was a former member of Poplar Head Baptist Church in Clarksville and has been an active member of First Baptist Church of Blountstown for more than forty-five years and has taught Sunday school and served in other capacities for many years.
She was a former member of the Woman’s Club and of Delta Kappa Gama. She has been serving on the W. T. Neal Civic Center Board of Directors for a number of years and was serving at the time of her death.

Mr. John T. Allgood, Sr., age 82, of Blountstown, FL passed away Thursday morning, June 28, 2012, in Panama City, FL.
John was born in Elba, Alabama, and moved back to Blountstown in 1981, coming from Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He was a 1948 graduate of Blountstown High School and a retired Senior Master Sergeant with 24 years in the United States Air Force. John was also a retired Major with 18 years at Florida Department of Corrections. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Clyde LaVaugh (Goodman) Allgood.

John was born in Elba, Alabama, and moved back to Blountstown in 1981, coming from Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He was a 1948 graduate of Blountstown High School and a retired Senior Master Sergeant with 24 years in the United States Air Force. John was also a retired Major with 18 years at Florida Department of Corrections. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Clyde LaVaugh (Goodman) Allgood.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Allgood, of Blountstown; two sons, John T. Allgood, Jr. and his wife, Natasha, of Washington, LA, and Donald C. Allgood and his wife, Lori, of Destin, FL; one brother, Robert Cecil Allgood, of Montgomery, AL; one sister, Floy Nanette Johnson, of Grand Ridge, FL; three grandchildren, Lauryn Kimberly Allgood, Brigitte Leigh (Allgood) Clark and her husband, Charlie, and Johnathan Derek Allgood.

Lonnie James Lee, 88, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2012, in the Calhoun Liberty Hospital in Blountstown.
Lonnie was born in Calhoun County on March 26, 1924, to the late Ivory Stack Lee and Lillie Mae Stack Lee. Lonnie was a deacon at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the people at Blountstown Health and Rehabilitation Center who had been a part of his family for the last three years. One would find him in his wheelchair rolling up and down the halls playing his harmonica.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elizabeth, Ella, and Shirley Faye.

Lee; two sons, Major (Pearl) and Gerald (Dradine); six daughters, Brenda (Ronnie), Cynthia (Eddie), Sharon (Mark), Uthenia (Joe D.), Pam (Joe W.), and Charolette (Sterling); brother-in-law, Lawrence (Pastor Rosetta); sisters-in-law, Chaffer Johnson, Janie Tate, Julia King (Edward); 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Alice was born on January 30, 1925, to the late Monroe and Lizzie Harris of Chicago, IL.

Patterson of Elizabethtown, KY, Mikal Patterson (Teresa) of Rome, GA, and Alvin Patterson of Blountstown; one stepdaughter, Helen Atkins, of Blountstown; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Robert Houston “Bobby” Sangster, age 60, of Altha, Florida passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Altha and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping and he was a fun loving practical joker. Bobby was a truck driver and a member of Chipola Holiness Church. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Kay Sangster; son, Chris Sangster; father, J. D. Sangster; and brother, Jim Sangster.

Johnny Irwin Blackburn of Altha, Florida passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the age of 54. Johnny lived in Calhoun County all of his life and was a member of First Baptist Church of Blountstown. He was a self-employed welder and in his leisure time he loved to grow plants and trees and loved to fish. He also served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Albert Schepis.
