The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office has advised the Silver Alert issued this morning for Cliff Henson of Mossy Pond has been cancelled. Mr. Henson has been located in Marion County. More details in this week's print edition.
Mr. Terry S. Mercer, age 50, of Hosford, FL passed away early Sunday morning, June 16, 2013 in Blountstown, FL. Terry was born on January 21, 1963 in Quincy, FL and had lived in Liberty County for most of his life. He was an electrician by trade. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Thomas Mercer and a grandson, Ethan John-Colt O’Bryan. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 11:00 am (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Stevie O’Neal officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Creek Cemetery in Liberty County. The family will received friends Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 6:00 pm (CDT) until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office has issued a silver alert for 76-year-old Clifton Henson. He was last seen leaving the Mossy Pond area of Altha in a 2001 black Dodge 1500 pickup (similar to the one in the photo). The license plate is a Florida tag, number AEBX41. Mr. Henson requires 24-hour care. It is believed Henson, who suffers from severe Alzheimer's disease, may be headed toward Bay County. The bed of the truck has a chrome strip along the rail. There is a dealership tag from Tennessee on the vehicle. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office at 674-5049.
