Mr. Wilhelmus Peter (Bill) VanHelden, 84, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014, in Panama City, FL.
Bill was born on January 24, 1930, in Vanrhein, Holland, and lived in Blountstown since 1997, coming from Long Island, NY. He was a retired travel agent with Mercury Travel and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving as a translator with the United States Army. Bill was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Breeze, of Blountstown; a son, William VanHelden, Jr., of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; three daughters, Patty Toner of Ft. Lauderdale, Cheryl Henley of Ft. Lauderdale, and Kim Westerly of Massachusetts; two half-brothers, Appy VanHelden of Athens, GA, and Luke VanHelden of Denver, CO; two sisters, Henny Pappas of Ft. Lauderdale, and Astrid Krets of Amsterdam; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorialization will be by cremation. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).

Mary Emma Rowell, 78, of Bristol, Florida, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, in Blountstown, Florida.
Mary was born in Quincy, Florida, November 15, 1936, to the late James Dalin and Annie L. (Faircloth) Shiver. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Eston Rowell.
Survivors include her son, Ty Rowell, and his wife, Lisa, of Bristol; her daughter, Anita Westberry, and her husband, Lee, also of Bristol; five grandchildren, Cody Thompson, Haley Thompson, Katelyn Buff, Selena Westberry, and Brittany Atkins; two great-grandchildren, Lanie Stafford and A. J. Atkins; and a brother, Gene Shiver, of Dalton, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. CT, Tuesday, December 30, at Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. CT, Wednesday, December 31, at the funeral home with Reverend Mike Allen officiating.

Mrs. Nancy (Baggett) Marks, 82, of Altha, Florida, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 23, 2014, at her home.
Nancy was born on November 26, 1932, in Calhoun County and had lived here most of her life. She was a carnival worker, raised five children and was a Cub Scout Den Mother. Nancy drove a Altha School Bus for a number of years and owned Bob’s Café in Altha. She volunteered at the Pioneer Settlement and worked the election polls for many years. She was a mother to half of the children in Altha and was also a homeroom mother.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clint and Mattie Baggett; husband, Robert (Bob) Marks; brothers, Edgar Baggett, Shorty Baggett and Edward Baggett; sisters, Lula Bowlin, Betsy Hicks and Velynn Hansford; and sons-in-law, Joseph Freeland and Jack Kelly.
Survivors include two daughters, Bobbie Phillips and her husband, R.L., of Altha, and Beverly Freeland of Altha; two sons, Dwight (Randy) Marks and his wife, Donna, of Whitsett, NC, and Johnny S. Marks and his wife, Nellie, of Clarksville, FL; one brother, Wallace Baggett, of Altha; four sisters, Carolyn Hutto of Greenwood, FL, Wanda Pate of Port St. Joe, FL, Donnie O’Brian of Altha, and Doris Laramore of Altha; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, at 11:00 am (CST) at the Altha United Methodist Church with Reverend Carlton Baggett and Reverend Dwayne Tolbert officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends Friday, December 26, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.
