Robert "R.O." Traylor
Robert "R.O." Traylor passed away December 12, 2014, at the age of 89.
R.O. was born July 31, 1925, in Blountstown, Florida. He joined the United States Army in 1949 and served in both Korean and Vietnam wars and retired as a Sergeant after 20 years of service. After service, R.O. came back to Blountstown and ran the family owned business known as Traylor's Oyster Bar. He enjoyed telling stories of his military experience and dancing at the singles club.
He was preceeded in death by his parents George and Ida Traylor and three sisters, Vonnie Duke, Verna O'Brian and Lorine Richter.
He is survived by one brother, Horace Traylor, of Cypress, FL; his nieces and nephews include Tammy (Jamie) and Colin Barrentine, all of Marianna, Tori (Toby) and Corbin Joyner of Grand Ridge, Frankie Traylor of Sneads, Jeff and Ann O'Brian of Blountstown, Willard and Alma O'Brian of Altha, Verna Mae and Ken Williams of Ocala, LaWanda O'Brian of Tallahassee, Tim and Barbara Kennedy of Port St. Joe, Jennifer (Norman) Holley of Tallahassee, Don and Alice Duke of Blountstown, and Jerane and Jack Spain of Altha, along with several other great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 16, at 2:00 pm (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Blountstown.

Mrs. Ruby Mae Pilcher, 99, of Blountstown, FL, passed way early Tuesday morning, December 9, 2014, in Blountstown.
Ruby was born on October 17, 1915, in Calhoun County and had lived here most of her life. She was retired from the Florida State Hospital where she worked as an office secretary. She was a member of the Sunny Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church in Altha.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Pilcher; sisters, Ilene Johnson, Annie Belle Ray, Gladys Smith, Myrtice Bracewell; brothers, Wilber Alexander and John R. Alexander.
Survivors include her sister, Ruth Creel, and her husband, Charles, of Blountstown; a sister-in-Law, Michelle Alexander; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Marvin Pilcher, of Grand Ridge, FL.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, at 11:00 am (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rudolph Barnhill officiating. Interment will follow in Sunny Hill Cemetery in Altha. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 13, from 10:00 am (CST) until service time at 11:00 am (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.
