BY COACH GREG JORDAN

The Tigers enter our final week of spring practice with a spring game Thursday at 7:00 vs Liberty County. The team will have had only 12 practices with only 9 of those days being in full pads. That is a short time period to get ready to play, but the kids have been working hard and are ready to go.

Last week I talked a little about the offensive side of the ball, this week I will cover the defense. We are changing schemes this spring to an 8 man front with a 3 deep secondary. The defensive lineman will be Byron Hall, Patrick Pitts, Corey McClellan, Timmy Giradot and Frankie Murrell. Linebackers that will be playing will be Dowling Lee, Jawon Mosley, Alexander Garrett, Ryan McIntyre, Anthony Williams. In the secondary will be Paul Mosley, PJ Buggs and Anthony Curry. These players are still learning where they fit in both the run and pass game. We will dress 25-30 players that are current 9th-11th graders with some of those helping the JV team next fall.

Don't forget about the pulled pork plates to eat before the game on Thursday. The plates will be ready by 6:00 at the concession stand at the football field. There will be some plates to be sold at the game for pick up but most will be pre-sold so see any player or coach or call the front office at the high school to pick up a ticket. The plates are $6 with pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans and bread.

Come out and catch some spring football, get a good meal and help out the athletic department all at one outing. Hope to see you at the game Thursday! Go Tigers!!!
