The Florida Panhandle Saddle Club is hosting their 2nd Annual Rodeo on Saturday, April 17th, at 7:00 pm at the Skeet Davis Arena inside Sam Atkins Park.
The tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Area Kindergarten and Pre-K students have been given a coloring sheet they turn in at the rodeo for a chance to win one of two bicycles to be given away.
Children 12 and under can compete for prizes in the calf scramble and teams of young men from Altha School are competing in the steer dressing competition. There will be a concession stand serving BBQ sandwiches, nachos, popcorn and drinks. There will be local cowboys and cowgirls as well as those who traveled several miles to compete in barrel racing, team roping, calf roping, bucking horse events, breakaway roping and of course, bull riding!
This is a fund raiser for the Florida Panhandle Saddle Club which was established in 1981. Last year, the rodeo was a huge success and we were overwhelmed with the support of our community. We have planned for an even larger crowd by providing additional seating and more restrooms. We have also secured our professional rodeo announcer from last year, Cody Murphy of Greenville, Alabama and local bullfighter Jamie Willis of Blountstown.
